Recette

So, my sister/best friend came to Brooklyn last weekend for a short and sweet little visit. Showing her around my hood was an absolute blast, I'm pretty proud of how much we squeezed into those 3 and a half days together. We brunched at Cafe Mogador, sipped coffee at Toby's Estate, enjoyed treats at Bakeri, dined at Five Leaves, and made it to this little gem in the West Village.                                                                                           Lauren's friend recommended we check out Recette, a worthy excuse to leave my borough and brunch it up big city style. We resisted the urge, despite the tantalizing whispers surrounding us from the moment we walked in the door, to order the pb&j pain perdue with earl grey milk jam. We opted for savory as usual and ordered the salt cod fritters to start, don't miss these when you go, burrata grilled cheese with romesco and basil, and the grilled chorizo with cheesy grits, fried eggs, espelette, and tiger shrimp. Everything was really delicious and perfectly done, I'd love to eat dinner here sometime.
