Cards and cookies

Let's rethink the roses, or whatever your flower of choice may be. Commercially grown flowers are riddled with pesticides, unsustainably farmed, and sourced from countries with unethical labor. Not only are they sustainably and ethically whack, but environmentally as well. I read this Inhabitat article this morning about the 100 million roses that are grown and flown for Valentines Day which ultimately produce 9,000 metric tons of CO2. Talk about unnecessary. Flowers die, a heartfelt card and decorated cookies made with love are absolutely priceless. Make something for those significant others, lovers, cats or dogs and don't just resort the the oh-so traditional flowers just days away from wilting. You're a little more creative than that.
Sending my love and off to New York!
