BBQ in Boulder

I catered another party on Thursday night. Aimee asked me if I'd like to take on the task about a week ago. She was in Chicago so we emailed each other menu ideas and recipes. When I mean success, I really mean success. I'm still having a hard time wiping the smile off my face. I have no idea how I even managed to take pictures in all the chaos. The good kind of chaos though, the kind that gets your blood flowing and leaves you happy for days.

No one believed me when I told them I had prepared everything that day. The guests questioned me about my training, skills, and how I planned the menu. I assured them I'm 100% self taught and planning the menu was ridiculously fun, that I was cooking all day and had a smile on my face every minute. Just to hear everyone's compliments made it that much more worthwhile. Will, who claims he didn't care about food until I started cooking for them, said, "it all tasted so incredibly fresh, I could taste the love that went into the food, it didn't need to be topped with cheese or extra salt, it was just right, everything was excellent." The women asked how I marinated the chicken and steak, and how I cooked them to perfection... I don't know. That was really my first time grilling solo. NAILED IT! They must have thought so too because they all bought me a massage for my hard work. Special does not even begin to explain this entertaining experience.
