Road to Hana

Today we went for a long ride to Hana, a small town on the east side of Maui. The town is not the attraction but the ride itself is; including numerous spots along the way allowing us to explore the flowers and critters of the island. That guy right there made my day.

Wai'anapanapa State Park black sand beach
Banana bread we purchased along the way in Nahiku
Everything's better with a little peanut butter on top

Lobster guacamole with Molokai sweet potato crisps
Mama's Mai Tai
Bread fruit chip

Mama's Macadamia Nut Crab Cakes with fire and ice relish
Our journey took us about 6 hours and by the end we were exhausted, but we couldn't refuse stopping at Mama's Fish House on our way back. This place is famous and we read about it in all our little tour guides but we underestimated them. Very impressive. We ordered a couple drinks, beers, and two appetizers; everything was amazing. Lobster guacamole and crab cakes... haha. I love life right now. The fantastic food was just the perfect ending for our journey.
